Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Tim Herdina ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Scenes Photo Frame mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We have designed Scenes Photo Frame to be privacy-respecting. Your photos stay on your device. We do not upload, copy, or store your photos on our servers or transmit them to any third party.
1. Information We Collect
a. Photos and Photo Library Access (stays on your device)
The App accesses your device's photo library only with your permission, which is granted through the standard iOS permission prompt and can be changed at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → PhotoFrame. Photos and any associated metadata (such as filenames, EXIF data, or album organization) are read locally on your device for display purposes only. We do not upload, transmit, or store your photos. We have no access to your photo library and cannot see your photos.
b. Analytics and Crash Reporting
To improve the App and diagnose problems, we collect limited, automatically generated information when you use the App. This information generally includes:
- device type and model (e.g., "iPad Pro 11-inch");
- operating system and version (e.g., "iPadOS 18.1");
- App version and build number;
- approximate language and region settings;
- aggregated, non-identifying usage events (for example, how often a particular App feature is opened);
- diagnostic and crash logs, including stack traces and the state of the App at the time of a crash;
- a randomly generated, App-specific identifier used to group events from the same installation. This identifier is not linked to your Apple ID, your name, or your photos.
This information does not include your photos, the contents of your photo library, your name, your email address, your precise location, or any other directly identifying information about you. We use it solely to understand how the App performs and to fix bugs.
Analytics and crash data are collected through [ANALYTICS / CRASH PROVIDER — e.g., Apple's built-in App Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry]. Their handling of this data is governed by their own privacy policies.
c. In-App Purchase Information
When you make an in-app purchase or subscribe to a Subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We do not receive or store your payment information (such as credit card numbers). Apple may share with us a transaction receipt and a non-identifying purchase confirmation so that the App can unlock the features you purchased. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's privacy policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
d. Support Communications
If you email us for support, we will receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry and will retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We want to be explicit about what we do not do:
- We do not collect or upload your photos or photo library.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or mailing address (except if you choose to email us directly for support).
- We do not collect precise location data.
- We do not access your contacts, microphone, camera, calendar, health data, or HomeKit.
- We do not use advertising identifiers or display third-party advertising.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
3. How We Use Information
We use the limited information described in Section 1 to:
- provide and maintain the App and its features;
- diagnose and fix crashes, bugs, and performance issues;
- understand which features are used so we can improve them;
- process and verify in-app purchases and Subscriptions through Apple;
- respond to your support requests; and
- comply with applicable law.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only in the limited circumstances described below:
- Service providers. We share analytics and crash data with the third-party analytics and crash-reporting provider identified in Section 1(b). These providers may only process the data on our behalf and are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes (except as permitted by their published policies).
- Apple. Purchase and subscription information is processed by Apple as the App Store operator and payment processor.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Developer, Users, or the public.
- Business transfer. If the App or our business is acquired by or merged with another entity, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Data Retention
We retain analytics and crash data only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, typically up to 24 months, after which it is deleted or further anonymized. Support emails are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to address ongoing or related support requests.
Your photos are not retained by us at any time, because we never receive them.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Photo library access. You can revoke the App's access to your photo library at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → PhotoFrame. If you revoke access, the App will not be able to display photos.
- Analytics opt-out. You can disable iOS-wide sharing of analytics with developers in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share with App Developers.
- Delete the App. Deleting the App from your device will stop any further data collection by the App.
- Manage subscriptions. You can manage or cancel Subscriptions at any time in Settings → [Apple ID] → Subscriptions.
Rights for California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to (a) know what personal information we have collected about you, (b) request deletion of that information, (c) request correction of inaccurate information, (d) opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share, as those terms are defined under California law), and (e) be free from unlawful discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address in Section 11. Because we collect only limited, non-identifying information, our ability to associate a request with a specific user may be limited.
Rights for Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. The legal bases on which we rely are (a) our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the App and (b) your consent, where required (for example, for analytics in some jurisdictions). You may withdraw your consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address in Section 11.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
8. Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect the limited information we collect, including the use of secure transport (HTTPS/TLS) and reputable service providers. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Users
The App is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, you understand that information we collect may be processed and stored in the United States or in any country where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to this transfer, subject to applicable law.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
